And The Show Goes On celebrates over 100 years of thriving on-stage entertainment in Yeovil. From the Assembly Rooms and long lost Town Hall to the Johnson Hall and now, The Octagon Theatre and Westlands Entertainment Venue.
The Theatre along with Windrose Rural Media Trust and Yeovil Amateur Operatic Society brings together a selection of archive footage and memories of those that have taken to Yeovil’s stages over the last century. National stars including, Sarah Parish, Bonny Sartin of the Yetties, a renowned wrestler, pantomime promoter and many familiar local faces share their memories of performing in the town.
Almost six months since The Octagon Theatre closed its doors to the public, we now need your support more than ever. The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted The Octagon Theatre like nothing before. Audience numbers reduced to zero overnight, with the lights going down one final time on the 16th of March. The Octagon Theatre is sustained through it’s loyal patrons returning time and time again to enjoy the best of local and national entertainment. This pandemic has had a massive impact on the theatre as a business, and by supporting us now, you are helping to ensure that entertainment will remain on-stage in Yeovil for at least another 100 years.
By watching one of our Screenings of And The Show Goes On, you are directly supporting The Octagon Theatre, with all proceeds going towards the ongoing costs of maintaining the venue during this unprecedented time of hibernation.
Our curtains have been drawn since March, but the show MUST and WILL go on.
