From Page to Stage

Do you have an idea for a creative project for theatre? This might be at the idea stage, you may have a few scenes, songs or images or you might have a finished draft ready to go into production? This 4-hour workshop, spread over two afternoons, is an opportunity to share your ideas, get advice and work out what your next steps are.

What will we do? 

Tuesday 17th February 2026 

Discuss your project(s), next steps for development, what to consider when building a creative team, timeline & timescales. 

The workshop features an online ‘In Conversation with’ Melissa Johns (Grantchester ITV, Adolescence Netflix, Coronation Street ITV, Life BBC), alongside her emerging TV career, Melissa developed her one woman show ‘Snatched’ from conception with Lowry Salford, Lily Levin and Anthony Kosky culminating in a tour across the UK. Now the work is being developed for TV. She will talk about this process and the transition from Theatre to TV writing. 

Wednesday 18th February 2026 

Discuss your project(s), finding your audience, understanding budgets, cashflows & fundraising, partners and producers, and going into production.  

Who is this for? 

Writers, directors, actors, composers, producers or artists who are looking for direction.  Anthony Kosky will lead the workshop, but the hive mind of the group will equally support your progress, so we welcome creatives from all stages of their career/life. 

Workshop lead: Anthony Kosky, Talent Development and Artist Support Officer at Octagon and Westlands. In 2012 he co-founded new writing and development company The Alchemist Arts Collective, producing and developing work at; Soho Theatre, Arcola Theatre, Park Theatre, Finborough Theatre, Kings Head Theatre, The Place (Euston), Lowry (Salford), Chapter (Cardiff), Northern Stage (Newcastle), Bolton Octagon, and Unity Theatre (Liverpool). Since 2023 he’s been producer of Somerset and Welsh based company HOLM working on UK and Internationally projects
