Yeovil celebrates culture, belonging and togetherness at Yeovil Together 2026
posted 05 Jun 2026

This year marks the 6th year of the annual Yeovil Together Festival, a free family-friendly community event celebrating cultural diversity, creativity and community, as organised by Yeovil’s Ethnic Diverse Communities on Sunday 5 July.

Yeovil Together is a place where people from all backgrounds can come together, share experiences, feel a sense of belonging, connection, and pride in their local community. The festival offers the community opportunity to experience culturally diverse foods and flavours of Yeovil, take part in creative workshops and wellbeing activities, learn, understand and celebrate people’s cultural heritage. Last year the Yeovil Together Festival attracted 1,270 people of multiple nationalities, cultures, faiths and backgrounds from the community to celebrate and share the vast range of cultures from Yeovil and the surrounding areas.

Residents and communities from Yeovil and the surrounding areas can join Yeovil’s ethnic diverse communities on Sunday 5 July 2026 for this vibrant multi-cultural celebration. Everyone is invited. With the event running from 12pm – 5pm at Westlands Entertainment Venue, as curated and designed by the Yeovil Together Steering Group, a community-led advisory and decision-making group representative of Yeovil’s Ethnically Diverse Communities. The community event is free for anyone to attend. Attendees can stay for the whole day and soak up the atmosphere, try the vast selection of foods and traditional dishes from arounds the world, watch the various performance acts take to the stage and take part in the creative workshops, cultural and language exchanges, or you can come and join in for an hour or so and see what we mean when Yeovil comes together. The doors are open to everyone at this family-friendly event.

On offer at the festival there will be:

  • Ethnically diverse food to purchase from local vendors and community groups
  • Live performances, music and dance from community and world-class touring companies
  • Family-friendly culturally creative workshops
  • Stalls and activities run by a variety of organisations
  • Language, faith and belief exchanges
  • Wellbeing activities
  • Talks and screenings

Also programmed for Yeovil Together is Stopgap Dance Company who will be bringing their highly revered production RO-TES-រទេះ. A piece to inspire and challenge perceptions of ability, performed by disabled, diverse and world-class dancers. RO-TES-រទេះ is inspired by Nadenh, who grew up on a boat within the jungle of Cambodia. As a Disabled child he could swim before he could wheel. The first time he saw a RO-TES រទេះ (Khmer for wagon) was the moment he realised he could move with the land too. Inspired by his Cambodian heritage Nadenh reimagines his wheelchair as a place that can support more than just his body. With groundbreaking innovation in wheelchair design, the creatives of Stopgap will invent a new world of bold movement and irresistible rhythms. Audiences are invited to revel and follow this joyful celebration that represents progress, community, and Nadenh’s journey with his RO-TES រទេះ. Expect a celebration that will surprise and delight audiences of all ages.

This is an event where the community can come together to share and celebrate culture, and learn about different cultures, languages, nationalities, traditions and foods. It’s a perfect day out for families, with something to discover around every corner.
