Accessible Ticket Scheme

Accessible Ticket Scheme

Our Accessible Ticket Scheme supports individuals of all ages to attend shows at The Octagon & Westlands, who might not be able to afford the opportunity otherwise.

We want to make sure that everyone in our community has the ability to access our venue and attend shows, events, and activities with us. That’s why we’ve created a ticket scheme that offers low-income households and individuals tickets to our shows and events at £3!

About the scheme

Throughout the year we will be unlocking tickets at £3 to selected shows. If you, or the individual you care for, are unable to afford the costs of attending the theatre, you can apply to our Accessible Ticket Scheme for support.

Once your application to the scheme has been approved, we’ll send over email alerts as soon as tickets for selected performances are released, allowing you to easily purchase our subsidised over the phone, in person at the Box Office, or online by logging into your account.

It is completely free of charge to join, membership to the scheme lasts for 1 year, and all members will be contacted with a reminder prompting you to renew access to the scheme should you wish. Members will be able to purchase up to 6 subsidised tickets to each selected performance where the offer applies. From comedy to music, plays to dance, and not forgetting our legendary pantomime, we will be offering hundreds of affordable tickets and unlocking the magic of live performance for those who may not otherwise be able to attend.

At present, tickets are available for the following shows:

How to apply

You can apply to our Accessible Ticket Scheme at any time. To apply to the Accessible Ticket Scheme, we ask you to fill out our quick online application form.

APPLY HERE

The form will ask for your contact details and confirmation that you receive government benefits or Free School Meals. If you are unable to provide evidence of low-income status, we are also able to accept a reference from a teacher, House Association Officer, or Social Worker etc. Please see our eligibility guidance below.

We will contact you to let you know the outcome of your application and, once accepted onto the scheme, you will be able to book our subsidised £3 tickets to selected performances!

Please contact us on 01935 422884 or westlandsyeovil@yeovil.gov.uk if you need the application form in a different format, or if you need assistance completing it online. The scheme will be awarded on a discretionary basis and all applications dealt with in complete confidence.

Eligibility

So that this scheme can serve those who need it most, we are asking for proof of low-income status. We have listed which evidence will be accepted below, but we know that there may be occasions where you have alternative evidence to offer. All applications will be looked at on a case-by-case basis, but to apply you will need to provide one of the following:

  • Universal Credit
  • Pension Credit
  • Council Tax Support
  • Free School Meals / Pupil Premium
  • Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Working Tax Credit (low income category)
  • Housing Benefit
  • Carers Allowance
  • Asylum Support

If you are unable to provide any of the above, we are also able to consider a reference from someone who can support your application. This might be a teacher, House Association Officer, or a Social Worker who knows you, however it cannot be a family member. Ask your referee to write a reference for you which tells us why they believe you are eligible and would benefit from accessing this scheme.
